What are the requirements for a football/soccer ball?
What happens if...
The referee drops the ball for the defending-team goalkeeper if the ball was in the penalty area when play was stopped. Otherwise, the ball is dropped for a player of the team that had or would have gained possession. If this is not clear to the referee, the ball is dropped for a player of the team that last touched the ball. The ball is dropped at the place where it was when play was stopped.
The game restarts as if the ball had not burst or gone flat.
The penalty kick is retaken.
Penalty kick: play restarts with a dropped ball. During penalties: the kick is recorded as 'missed'.
